Private Messages New Features & Usability Upgrade
Now with new features like auto-save messages as draft, archive a message, mute a message, subject lines and more, you can use Messages and bring the private internal communication that is happening on emails today into MangoApps. These enhancements are available to both network & guest users.
-
New People List Lookup With Advanced Filters
- The to list now has a lookup button that allows you to select people
- Select people using pre-defined & custom user profile fields to arrive at your desired to list
- Save the filter criteria to re-use it again later and get to the list of people quickly
-
Save as Draft
- MangoApps now auto-saves a draft of the private message that you’re working (every 30 secs)
- You can also save a draft of your private message using the save as draft action at anytime
- To view your saved drafts select the drafts filter under messages
- You can continue working on your drafts, discard them or send them when ready directly from the drafts filter
- Draft messages like the rest of messages are fully searchable
-
Mute a Private Message
- Muting a conversation will not notify you when there is a new message in the conversation
- The muted conversation will appear in your inbox filter with a muted icon against it
- The muted conversation will still appear in your unread filter, if there is an unread message in it (just no in-app & no email notification will be generated)
- When you open a muted conversation, you’ll see the muted icon on the top and an action on the right end to un-mute it
- Other participants don’t know that you have muted the conversation
- Muted messages like the rest of messages are fully searchable
-
Archive a Private Message
- You can now tidy up your inbox by using the archive action
- Archiving a message removes the message from your Inbox and moves it to your archived folder
- Archived folder is your private folder
- If there is a new message in an archived conversation, you’ll still be notified about it and the archived message will appear in your unread filter
- You can perform all actions (e.g., pin, mute etc) on an archived message like you can with normal messages
- Messages are never automatically deleted from the archived folder unless they are explicitly deleted by the sender
- Archived messages like the rest of messages are fully searchable
-
Mark as Unread a Private Message
- Messages that you have opened are automatically marked as read
- You can now change the message/conversation status back from read to unread by clicking on the Mark as Unread action
- Marking a message/conversation unread will make it appear in your unread filter with the unread dot next to it
- No notification would be generated when you mark a message as unread
-
Subject Line Added
- As a sender you can now have a subject line for your private messages
- Once the private message is sent, the subject line can’t be changed to avoid confusion that comes with changing the topic of an ongoing conversation
- Email notifications for messages would have the message subject line in the email subject line giving your recipients a reason to check the message
- Entering a subject line is optional (but recommended)
- Text in subject lines like the rest of message content are fully searchable
-
Inbox Message Order Options
- You can now sort your inbox messages in 2 ways – Show Unread First or Show Most Recent First
- By default it is set to Show Most Recent First.
- The order can be changed at anytime and your preference would be remembered
-
Improved Search
- If the search term has multiple keywords in it, then the matched search results would have all the words present
- The most relevant matched messages would appear higher up in search results
