New Capabilities For The Admin

  • Make MangoApps  intranet software and collaboration software available to employees who don’t have an email address:
    • With this release of MangoApps you can have employees in your company who don’t have an email address to also use MangoApps by assigning them a unique employee id.
    • The employee id becomes the login id of the employee and MangoApps generates a temporary password which the employees change on their first login (applicable for non-SSO integrated domains).
    • In the admin portal you can filter employees based on employee id and access to MangoApps via employee ID is audited like it is for email address based logins.
    • Importing users via CSV at the domain and inside a team has been enhanced to support adding network users with employee ID only.
    • All MangoApps platforms – web, mobile and desktop/mac now have support employee id based access.
    • This feature is available for network users only.

  • Allow employees to change their email/login address without domain administrator support
    • You can now enable employees to edit their email address at anytime from their respective profile.
    • After the user changes the email address they get a notification confirming their action. The new email address is the new login id for the user into MangoApps (applicable for non-SSO integrated domains).
    • This feature is available for network users only.

  • Scheduling new user provisioning in bulk from a URL (SFTP based)
    • When your company doesn’t use Active directory or SAML as your SSO system but you would still like to provision users in bulk into MangoApps, a new option has been made available which allows you to specify a URL (sftp) from where MangoApps can fetch a CSV file and provision new users (and suspend users who have left)
    • This fetch from URL capability can be performed on demand or can be scheduled (once every 12 hours/once every day). Scheduling this is a great way to keep user information upto date, if you have a network where new employees have to be provisioned in bulk on a ongoing basis.
    • If the SFTP access required authentication, MangoApps supports configuring the login and password info to connect to the SFTP server.
    • Bulk user provisioning from the URL has been built to support keeping the profile custom fields in sync with the information provided by the URL.

  • Additional option to control auto-sending invite emails as part of user provisioning
    • In both the bulk provisioning options – Import from CSV and Fetch from URL, you now have an option to automatically send out invite emails to the new added users.
    • This setting by default is OFF which means invites emails automatically will not be send after the bulk import/fetch of users is complete. You will need to turn ON and save the setting for emails to be send after the next import/fetch successfully completes.

  • Configure the max number of computers allowed to run file sync per user
    • As an admin you can now increase (0r decrease) the number of computers on which an employee can sync their files/folders.
    • File sync on upto a max of 4 computers per employee are supported at this time.

  • Box as a file repository improvements
    • Admins now have an option to cache images and videos stored in Box on MangoApps servers to provide better end user experience while viewing rich media. This setting is ON by default when the storage is box and the admin has the option to turn it off.
    • Improvement error handling when file is shared in a team when the user doesn’t have permission to upload.
    • Auto-recovery when MangoApps created permission groups on box are deleted by the box admin has now been built which re-creates them automatically.
