10+ New Enhancements For Domain Admins

List of improvements for the domain admins to make it easier to administer your community

  • New integrations with business apps

    • Integration with the following business apps has been added to the MangoApps dashboard using widgets
      • Insperity’s ExpensAble Expense Reporting App
        • A widget that integrates with your company’s expensable account and bring the data on user’s MangoApps dashboard
        • This requires the user to have an account in the ExpensAble expense reporting app also
      • Star Practice Management App
        • Using the MangoApps iFrame embed widget integrate with your company’s star practice management app account and bring the data on user’s MangoApps dashboard
        • This does not require the user to have an account in Star practice management app
      • Bottomline Payment App
        • Using the MangoApps iFrame embed widget integrate with your company’s bottomline sales app account and bring the data on user’s MangoApps dashboard
        • This does not require the user to have an account in Star practice management app
    • The above integrations are available on both MangoApps user portal and MangoApps mobile apps

  • New integration with Microsoft Power BI

    • MangoApps now supports integration with Microsoft Power BI and makes it available on both MangoApps user portal & mobile apps. This requires you to have a Microsoft Power BI Embedded license for this integration to work.
    • Power BI can be made available to all users by domain admins following these 2 steps on MangoApps admin portal (assuming the Power BI side of setup has been done)
      • Setup MangoApps to connect & authenticate with Power BI
        • Go to Integrations > Power BI tab and enter the Application Secret, Tenant ID and Application ID that you have got from Power BI side
        • MangoApps supports ‘Service Principal’ based authentication type with Power BI. All users do not need to have a Power BI account
        • Use the “Test Authentication” action to verify that the data entered is correct and then save the settings
        • You can optionally setup row level security (RLS) if you want users to only see the rows as per permissions set on Power BI side. For RLS you need to select the
          • User’s identifier – The unique identifier for the user. For e.g., this is selected to be ‘Email Address’. For users who don’t don’t have an email address MangoApps will automatically default it to Employee ID (or vice versa)
          • User role (optional) – Pick the user profile field that has been synced with Active directory to hold the user’s role. This field value is passed to Power BI to filter the rows to be returned
        • For RLS to work the users need to be present in Azure
      • Add Power BI widget to dashboard & publish to all users
        • Go to Modules > Dashboard > Widget Gallery
        • Find & add the Power BI widget
        • Setup the widget name
        • Enter the workspace ID and report ID that would have got from Power BI for the specific report to show
        • Publish the dashboard to all users

  • Enterprise apps widget with 1-click SSO access to systems

    • If you company is using Okta or OneLogin as the SSO provider, then ‘My Enterprise Apps’ widget can be used to show the Okta & OneLogin provisioned apps directly on user’s dashboard in MangoApps. This will give your employees 1-click SSO access to your existing enterprise apps that are authenticated by Okta/OneLogin directly from Mango Apps dashboard.
    • This widget also supports 1-click access to all enterprise apps that are configured to use MangoApps as the SSO provider.
    • The apps listed in this widget can be shown in list view or a grid view

  • Default news feed settings

    • As an admin you can now set the default for all users to have My feeds (single tab for primary + secondary feeds) or as two separate tabs of primary & secondary.
    • When you use a single tab “My Feeds” the news feed in it will ordered by most recent on top
    • There are two new tabs in the news feed module that have been added
      • Unread
        • This tab shows a list of all your unread news feed consolidated under one tab
        • You can choose if both primary and secondary feed appear as Unread or Secondary feeds are automatically marked as read and never appear in your “Unread” tab.
        • Unread news feed will automatically ordered by primary on top followed by secondary.
      • Activities
        • This tab shows surfaces up system performed activities/knowledge that are applicable to you. For e.g., someone edited your note or document, someone joined a team that you administer, a poll was closed & more.
    • Admins can set the default preference to enable / disable unread, activities, secondary, @mention and pinned tabs for everyone in the organization
    • Admins can set the default order of the tabs for everyone in the organization

  • Default notification settings

    • Instead of having to go through 140+ notification setting individually domain admins can now use drop-down with 3 easy to choose levels – “Few”, “Medium”, “Many” or your own custom notification settings for your organization.
    • Domain admin created custom notification settings will be available as a choice to all users as – “Domain Admin Defaults”
    • The notification settings that are ON will be received by users over the “Out of channels” that are turned ON
      • On web it will be in the Chrome/Firefox/IE Edge notification center when users are not online  (Replaces the notifications bell icon present in the earlier MangoApps version)
      • On mobile it will be the toaster & notification center when users are not in the app (controlled by what you have set on the phone)
      • On desktop it will be in the “Notifications” panel in the user’s app
      • On email if user has an email address (in MangoApps)
    • The users can override these settings set by the domain admin as per their preference.

  • Posts email digest to improve engagement

    • A new email digest that includes company & team posts has been added
    • This digest can be scheduled for all users to go
      • Daily
      • Weekly
    • Max of 5 company posts & 5 team posts will be included in the email digest
    • This post digest email will go to network users only (and not guest users)

  • Tracking engagement with email notifications

    • Opening an email now will be recorded as user engagement from this release.
    • View counts for the following content types will now show the users who have opened the email
      • Post
      • Wiki
      • Page

 

  • Admin customizable user status values

    • MangoApps allows domain admins to now customize the pre-defined list of custom status and their attributes from user Domain > User Status
    • Domains admins for the 5 pre-defined user status values can customize
      • The emoji
      • Status
      • Default auto clear interval
      • Default DnD value
    • All users in the company will set these pre-defined values to set their status (or create their own)

  • User display name control

    • Ability to control the format of display name for all users is now available for domain admins
    • Two options available for display name are
      • First name & Last name
      • Nickname & Last name
    • All employee names on the user portal, mobile apps & desktop apps will be as per the format set by the domain admin

  • Admin portal home

    • Admin portal home page now has new widgets on the right most columns that are accessible to all domain admins
      • Your assigned CSM info & the link to the dedicate help project (for enterprise customers) or a help widget with link to help guides
      • Link to the next upcoming webinars
      • Link to review websites to share your feedback on MangoApps
      • Link to the MangoApps partner portal

 

  • On page help links for all modules and features

    • Domain admin now has access to help via the help link on all the admin portal pages
    • The help link will open the admin guide article which will provide help about the features & settings on that specific page
